m+d = family time!

oh, madison. you are too cute, just like your aunt olivia says. thanks to m+d for having me do you some family photos... they are finally coming together.

this is a step out of my zone... kids are a lot harder to shoot than they look.
they move.
a lot.

so here's to all the child photogs out there (sarah... if you are reading, i don't know how your do it!).

cheesetastic

totally rockin' the tacky tourist gig in victoria.

i'm always a sucker for some lame-o photo-ops... this time, at butterfly gardens in victoria this morning. brandon forgot his handy-dandy point-and-shoot, so the iPhone came to the rescue! pales in comparison to mine. bwah-ha-ha.

and even this small image kinda looks lame. much better on the brand new 24" screen. boo-yah! gorgeous and glossy (mistakes are much more visible; must step up my game). and now, for some pretty flowers! hold the applause. wedding photos to come soon!

countdown!

i'm really looking forward to next week and weekend... after much anticipation, ashley's getting hitched in victoria, at the beautiful bear mountian resort. i also have the pleasure of shooting michelle, dave and baby madison (i shot sister olivia's wedding back in may) whilst i'm in town... so fun!

i finally... FINALLY... finished ashley's menus, programs, placecards and table signage this morning. she let me go at 'er, even with her invitations, and i get to be official paparazzi on the big day! i think she puts too much trust in me... i won't let you down, ash! love ya!

here's a sneak peek at the paper goods.

placecards (in sage green)

bar menu detail in ivory linen paper

the set: table names (after trees), dinner & bar menus

and, lilly, after her bath this morning. that look of utter contempt and disdain will haunt me for today. i have to say, brandon and i enjoy her baths... so funny. hey--don't judge. we don't have cable.

coffee + sunday + me = happiness!

trash it.

i've been getting a lot of questions (and some horrified looks) about "trash the dress". so, a quick recap, for those of you who have no idea what i am referring to...

"Go ahead, you know you want to. Trash it. Get it dirty. Get it wet. Roll around in the mud. Drench it in the ocean. Totally trash it. Why? … Why not? You’ve made a commitment to your husband. He’s your one and only true love, right? Then you’ll never need the dress again. And no, your daughter won’t wear it in 20-30 years. So you have two choices: a) Suffocate it in plastic and throw it in a closet or b) Show your husband how committed you are by trashing the dress, and get some great fun pictures while you do it!"

i've got a couple brides interested... and i'm so excited to have some fun and take some amazing shots. sound like something you're interested in? contact me... i have some dates available.

like christina once said: let's get dirrty. ha!

p+k.

there are simply no words. this was just too beautiful.
the bride, the groom, the parents, the officiant, the paparazzi (moi), and the helicopter pilot.
a wedding in snow.
in august.
yes, that's right. august.
