I'm not going to lie. I had my reservations about being the principal photographer at my brother's wedding, from expectations to sheer narcissism (I want to be in the photos, too!). Now, looking back, it was the perfect choice - I got to spend the entire day with him, my younger brother and sister-in-law-to-be. And that's just where I wanted to be.
Meet Drew and Andrea.
They met at University. They were introduced by their mutual friend, Sabrina, who also emceed the wedding. They went out on their first date with me as a buffer (for reals, y'all) back in 2005. They are both really tall. Like, tower-above-me-tall. And they are perfect for each other.
Here are some of my favorites from the day...
Drew getting ready
The beautiful bride
Andrea and Drew chose to see each other before the wedding - the first look
My brothers - Spencer and Drew. This is normal.
Yep. Told you she's tall. She don't need heels!
And you may now KISS THE BRIDE!
Helllloooooo bright, bright sun.
The bling. Solitaire from Tiffanys.
All the details - the juicy colour screamed SUMMER!!
We escaped the reception for some late evening light...
Back to the party - the first dance
The venue - Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club in Richmond, BC
I had to save the best for last. My favorite from the day:
A very big and very special thank you to Sarah from
Silver Lamb Studios for coming as a second photographer for the event. Those family photos would have been near impossible without you! You can see some of her shots from the wedding on her
blog.
All the best to Drew and Andrea on their honeymoon in Kauai, and I can't wait to share the rest with them when they return.
Please leave your love for my brother and new sister-in-law below!
