andrea's shower [party time!]

I hosted a little shower for my soon-to-be sister-in-law this weekend. I love parties. :) Mostly, I love party prep. You know, nerding-out and coming up with a theme, a colour palette, decorations, making yummy food and tasty bevvies. Andrea is the nicest - and I mean nicest! - girl. So gracious, thoughtful and giggly, which is cool.

The group... in my TINY living room.

The flowers. You can't NOT have flowers!

Cutting the cake. No, I didn't make it.

Yes, those are giant flower pom-poms. I couldn't help myself!

The congratulations banner, made to match her invites! I'm such a geek!

All in all, it was a nice afternoon, and Andrea made out like a bandit - but who doesn't at a bridal shower! I'll be coming to visit her and all her baking-domestic-goddessness soon! I can't wait for her and my brother's wedding in June!

oyster fest | event photography, powell river, bc

Normally, I'm one of the patrons gorging on the fabulous and fresh seafood at the annual Oyster Fest. This year? I'm working it... not only as a photographer, but alongside the fantastic and fun instructors and student chefs!

high school musical | event photography, powell river, bc

Here is a sneak peek of some images from Fiddler on the Roof, the local high school's musical, currently playing at the Max Cameron Theatre. Let me just say - the show is fantastic! I'm so proud of all the students that have showcased their talent. Here's a couple images from last week's performance.

These kids are talented! I feel so lucky to be involved in events like this, and can't wait to see the other cast next weekend.

Like the good book says... go see it for yourself!
